The Carlyle Group, the global investment firm with $260 billion in assets, is working with an Irish private equity firm on a bid for Davy Stockbrokers. Dublin-based Melior Equity Partners, which was co-founded by Jonathan Cosgrave and Peter Garvey, has teamed up with Carlyle to bid for the Davy, which was put on the market after a Central Bank rebuke prompted a political backlash and the loss of several key clients.
