Davencor Holdings, the family office of John Corcoran, the founder of Davenham Switchgear, has invested in Licovolt, a UCD spin-out that has developed a patented process to recycle specialist batteries. Corcoran was previously the chief executive of Davenham Switchgear before he sold his business, which employs 350 people, to the Legrand Group, a Fortune 500 company, in August 2023. Davenham Switchgear makes electrical switchgears for power systems used in data centres, so Corcoran understands the opportunity for Licovolt.
