European Commissioner Michael McGrath has trained his attention on Chinese online shopping firms Shein and Temu, which are both headquartered in Ireland. Shein and its rival Temu’s parent PDD Holdings have established headquarters in Ireland in recent years, putting them in the crosshairs of Irish and European authorities and the enforcement of regulations like the Digital Services Act (DSA) and consumer protection laws.
