There are a lot of headwinds blowing at the moment in the economy. US online businesses are shedding staff or freezing hiring. Energy prices are going up. The war in Ukraine is rumbling on and the residential rental market is still challenging. A lot of people seem to be particularly spooked by the change in sentiment from their US employers. We are seeing a direct impact of these job cuts/recruitment freezes in Ireland with Meta, Twitter, and Stripe to name but three, cutting their staff.
