A company controlled by Musgrave, the Cork-headquartered retail giant, has petitioned the High Court for a creditor-led examinership of Lanney’s SuperValu in Ardee, Co Louth, a well-known business in the area. Representatives of the retail giant were in talks with the Lanney family for some time in relation to the financial health of the companies behind the supermarket before going to the High Court. Musgrave is by far the largest creditor of the store after acquiring historic substantial debts.
