In recent days, a liquidator was appointed to Copper Beech Racing, the main trading company of Michael Halford, the Kildare-based horse trainer who has won a number of Group 1 races and has trained horses for, amongst others, the Aga Khan. It was a low-key affair. The meeting was held remotely, and most of the company’s rank-and-file creditors did not attend. Those who did attend signed off on the appointment of John Healy, a partner with the accountancy firm Healy Kirby, as liquidator.
