Veteran property player Tom Bailey called it a “shakedown” when he sued the co-trustee of a family trust for allegedly trying to leverage his position to claim a stake in a lucrative planning project near Maynooth. But the co-trustee of the trust in question, the Culcommon Trust, is fighting back. Tyrone-born financier and developer John Barrett of Citadel Corporate Services has launched a legal counterclaim for €14 million accusing Bailey of breaching an oral contract.
