Acutrace, the Dublin utility analytics company founded by its chief executive Aidan McDonnell in 2015, has found a new home through its acquisition by Irish energy supplier Pinergy, the companies announced today. Acutrace’s software platform and integration services help business customers measure their use of energy and other utilities and analyse the data to improve efficiency. For Pinergy, the deal marks a step forward in the analytics arms race where challenger energy suppliers no longer aim to offer just the cheapest electricity or gas, but also the tools to help customers understand and manage their consumption.
