The joint liquidators of Debenhams Retail (Ireland) are to appeal a ruling of the Workplace Relations Commission to the Labour Court. Last month, the WRC found in favour of a former worker at Debenhams, the collapsed department store chain, that saw her awarded €2,280 after complaints were upheld after a hearing. The complainant, Jane Crowe, was a test case and, if the WRC ruling is accepted across the entire 800 staff, the cost could come close to €2 million.
