Since 2016, 111 separate cases have been taken against Medlab Pathology Limited – a company to which the HSE outsourced testing for the CervicalCheck programme. In Medlab’s 2020 accounts filed in recent days, it was revealed how much capital was left in Medlab for the 111 families to potentially recover.  The accounts cover the year to June 30, 2020. In the accounts, the company estimates the total cost from litigation pending against it will come to €49.3 million. Insurance will cover €30.9 million of that, the accounts state.
