Blackrock College, the prestigious Dublin private school that has been rocked by allegations of historic sex abuse, has appointed its first-ever female principal. In a note issued to staff this morning, the board of management of Blackrock said it was appointing deputy principal Yvonne Markey as the principal of the school from September 1, 2023. Markey replaces Alan MacGinty, who is retiring after being in the position since 2000.
