Building Research Establishment (BRE), a British building standards organisation founded in 1921, has said it will no longer accept work from the Irish building materials giant Kingspan “following evidence heard during the course of [the Grenfell Tower] Inquiry.” Kingspan wrote to its insulated panel customers in Ireland and Britain, where BRE is used, to notify them of BRE’s decision, which it said in its letter was made due to “the perceived ‘reputational risk’ to the BRE”.
