Dublin County Registrar Rita Considine hit the headlines in April last year when she became embroiled in a row with her next door neighbours in north Dublin. The dispute over alleged breaches of planning permission and trespass on her property spilled over into court proceedings before Dublin Circuit Civil Court. After reading the affidavits, the judge urged the parties to enter mediation and allow professional experts examine the issue to help achieve a settlement.
