The offices of the Central Bank of Ireland are, to put it mildly, fancy. Art lines the walls. Despite there being lots of people about, it is quiet in that way solid walls and doors give sound little chance to move. Everything is sturdy, from the door latches to the security measures. The large table of our meeting room is sheer black wood, surrounded by dark leather seats looking out on the River Liffey through floor-to-ceiling windows.
