Nóirín Hegarty, who was appointed editor of the Sunday Times newspaper in Ireland in late 2021, is stepping down from her position. In a statement, a spokesperson for the newspaper’s owner News International confirmed the move, adding that Hegarty would serve in the role on an “interim basis until she embarks on a new career opportunity overseas in the New Year”.
