The vessel carrying at least €157 million worth of cocaine that was seized on Wednesday by Irish authorities came under new ownership in August, according to vessel registration documentation, with its new owner a one-ship company formed in the Marshall Islands in July. Matthew Maritime took ownership of the Panama-flagged MV Matthew on August 10, according to the public vessel information database Equasis, about a month after it registered as a company in the Marshall Islands, on July 7.
