Damien Clancy, the former chairman and managing director of Russian-owned Aughinish Alumina, is suing his personal tax advisor for negligence following a €4.6 million tax settlement with the Revenue Commissioners and tax authorities in Cyprus. Clancy with an address at North Circular Road, Limerick has brought an action for damages against Kennelly Tax Advisers Ltd of Mespil Road, Dublin claiming his advisor gave him bad advice and compromised a tax appeal on April 24, 2023, without his prior knowledge or permission.
