An Bord Pleanála has ordered Wicklow County Council to remove a further six sites from its planned residential-zoned land tax net after it let several local zoning plans expire. Last month, The Currency reported on two other cases where the planning authority ruled that sites must be removed from the local authority tax map for the same reason. The tax will take effect in February 2025 and will replace the vacant site levy. The tax rate will be three per cent of the self-assessed market value of the land.
