The Revenue Commissioners has said in an affidavit opened in the High Court that it believes a Wexford-based logistics company called Capallfield Transport Ltd is a “‘phoenix’-type entity”. An officer of the Revenue Commissioners said in an affidavit that: “The view of Revenue is that the company purports to continue the business previously carried on by Monart Express Transport Ltd (Monart) and that it is a Phoenix entity.” Revenue added: “In other words the continuation of a prior business with unpaid indebtedness to Revenue, through another vehicle.” Revenue said before judging a company to be a phoenix-type entity it considered…
