A small Irish business is taking on the retailing giant Penneys in the High Court. Founded by Dublin entrepreneur Aine Kennedy in February 2022, The Smooth Company has one flagship product – a trademarked smooth stick for hair styling – along with some branded merchandise. The business is slickly marketed and Kennedy has a significant social media following where clips of her and her grandfather Billy using the product have gone viral.
