Google Ireland is seeking to quash the Data Protection Commission’s decision to launch an inquiry into how the social media giant handles users’ personal data when they first set up an account. The inquiry, initiated last October 23 under Section 110 of the Data Protection Act 2018, was on the back of six complaints by European consumer agencies in Slovenia, Norway, France, Czech Republic, Spain and Greece between September 2022 and January 2023.
