After a complex legal battle, the Italian clothes brand Diesel SPA has won the right to register its trademark in Ireland. Best known for its jeans, the international clothing manufacturer first began to sell its goods under the Diesel brand name in Italy and in several other European countries in 1978. Its products landed in Ireland in 1982. It was first blocked from registering its mark in Ireland in 1994 by Irish jeans manufacturer Diesel Ireland.
