The owner of a centre for asylum seekers in Co Galway is suing the Government for unpaid invoices of €1.89 million, billed last summer when the property was allegedly in breach of building regulations. Abbeytrill Partnership claims the Government was on notice before signing the contract on May 29, 2023 that Abbeytrill was liaising with the local authority in respect of the building regulations.
