Five protected disclosures were made last year by people working for Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), the state body responsible for funding scientific research in Ireland. All five made their complaints in 2023. Dealing with their ongoing fallout has required considerable resources by the state body, which is tasked with funding basic and applied research in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
