The board of Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) is “taking steps” after an independent investigator completed an investigation into five protected disclosures made in December by people working for the state body responsible for funding scientific research in Ireland. In a lengthy statement to The Currency, SFI explained the steps it had taken to date but said it was unable to comment on whether all of the protected disclosures made in late December 2023 related to one individual or a number of individuals.
