By profession, Patrick Barry’s father was a teacher and a principal. At heart, however, he was an entrepreneur. While teaching, he built a fleet of ice-cream trucks, Pat’s Ices, and had a side hustle buying and selling Honda 50s. Every weekend, he would trawl through the classifieds magazine Buy & Sell to identify old fridges that could be refurbished and sold on to landlords — at a higher price. He eventually brought his profession and his entrepreneurial passion together to launch The Foxrock Institute, a grinds school in Deansgrange in south Dublin.
