Five months after it began the process, Finbourne, the London-headquartered fintech company led by Irishman Tom McHugh, has closed a £55 million (€51 million) series B investment round led by Highland Europe and Axa Venture Partners. McHugh told me in March it had appointed Banco Santander to advise on the funding round, and that there was a long list of around 50 investors interested.
