Alan Sharp has been appointed group chief executive designate of Bon Secours, Ireland’s largest independent hospital group. Sharp, the current chief executive of the Mater University Hospital, will join the hospital group as deputy chief executive at the end of October this year. He will then succeed current chief executive Bill Maher in July 2025 as part of a succession plan by Bon Secours, which operates five acute hospitals in Cork, Galway, Limerick, Tralee and Dublin as well as a care village in Cork.
