Newly lodged planning files show the owners of the Merrion Hotel want Dublin City Council to refuse Eamon Waters’ plans for a new hotel development on Baggot Street Lower, marking the latest in a string of hotel plans linked to the former waste tycoon facing planning obstacles in recent months. In August, Peachbeach Unlimited put in a planning application to demolish the current building at 15-16 Baggot Street Lower and replace it with a six-storey hotel and apartment complex.
