The EU-China trade barbs have started to sink into Kingspan. The Cavan insulation company is sounding the alarm over EU duties slapped on Chinese chemicals used in flame retardants. Earlier this year, the European Commission imposed hefty duties of up to 68 per cent on imports of particular chemicals used in the manufacture of flame-retardant insulation. Ahead of the Commission’s decision in April, Kingspan voiced its opposition to the measures.
