Ireland’s position on a slate of new EU pharmaceutical regulations is “evolving”. That’s according to the Department of Health as it continues to field a lobbying blitz from several major pharma firms with large operations in Ireland. The proposals are a major revamp of the EU’s existing framework for pharmaceuticals, which has been in place for 20 years. The reforms seek to improve the accessibility and affordability of medicines and reinforce supply chains in Europe to prevent any shortages of critical medicines.
