The Hanover public prosecutor’s office has charged the founder of the Dolphin Trust property investment group with 27 counts of professional fraud, a statement from the office announced this week. The statement identifies the person charged as Charles S., the founder of Dolphin Capital GmbH in 2008, a company later renamed Dolphin Trust GmbH in 2014 and German Property Group GmbH in 2019. Prosecutors added that the defendant was a British citizen. As previously reported, the Dolphin Trust was founded by German-British businessman Charles Smethurst.
