It has not been an easy few months for Mainline Power, the Cork-based electrical engineering services firm. In May, Swedish firm VTG Entreprenad enforced a €6.8 million arbitration award granted against Mainline and its Swedish subsidiary in relation to a civil trenching and cable installation sub-contract with VTG. Shortly after, it petitioned the High Court for bankruptcy protection from its creditors. VTG objected to the appointment of an examiner, but the High Court subsequently confirmed Grant Thornton partner Nicholas O’Dwyer in the role.
