At the end of October, CRH Ventures participated in a €23.7 million funding round in Cool Planet Technologies, a British carbon capture company, marking another sizeable investment for the venture fund set up nearly two years ago by the Irish construction supplies giant. CRH firm launched its venture arm in late 2022 with a pot of $250 million (€230 million) to invest in start-ups in the decarbonisation and digitisation agenda. The Cool Planet investment (unrelated to the Irish-based Cool Planet Group founded by Norman Crowley) fits into that investing agenda for the venture wing around sustainable and decarbonised industrial processes.…
