Indian low-cost airline SpiceJet isn’t a well-known name outside of its home markets but its name has been entangled in several disputes with Irish based aircraft lessors. In recent weeks, the Indian airline has settled cases in India with numerous Irish-headquartered firms, taking the matters out of the courts and behind closed doors. The airline has been battling solvency issues since Covid-19 and most recently restructured its debt with Carlyle Aviation and raised over €300 million through several institutional investors.
