When TS Anil declared his intention to expand Monzo into Ireland, little was known of what its new European outpost would look like. In June, the British fintech’s CEO reported its first full profitable year, bringing in £15.4 million (€18.5 million) in pre-tax profit for 2023. In the same report, Anil also said that Ireland would act as Monzo’s “gateway to European markets” and revealed the company was in the “early stages of setting up an Irish office”.
