The board of Scouting Ireland has written to its members to inform them that the Charities Regulator is “appointing inspectors to investigate the affairs” of the body. The inspectors, according to Scouting Ireland, will also examine the affairs of six organisations relating to Scouting Ireland including the Scout Association of Ireland Trust Corporation, Scouting Trust Property and the Scout Foundation. The inspectors, according to Scouting Ireland, will seek to “establish the facts surrounding the status of the following entities: Scouting Ireland Unincorporated Association; Scouting Ireland (SAI); and Scouting Ireland (CSI) and to clarify the relationships with Scouting Ireland CLG”.
