Last July, The Currency wrote about a battle breaking out between the liquidators of the Irish arm of collapsed German electronics payment provider Wirecard and the Revenue Commissioners. The liquidators of Wirecard UK and Ireland Limited had just lodged a High Court action against the Irish tax authority in a bid to recover tens of millions of euro in withheld corporation tax refunds.
