Alan English spent five years endeavouring to best what he did in his first week. In March 2020, as the country went into lockdown, English edited his first edition of the country’s biggest circulation newspaper, The Sunday Independent.  The front page of that edition, dominated by an evocative photograph of a masked funeral director with a coffin in the background, captured the uncertainty and fear of that time.
