The Arts Council’s outdated grant application system will be shuttered for essential maintenance works for two days later this month.  Applicants for grants will not be able to access the system when it shuts down next Thursday and Friday.  The embattled state agency announced on its website this Monday lunchtime: “Due to scheduled maintenance there will [be] disruption to access our funding platform from 08.00 on Thursday 20 March to 23.59 on Friday 21 March.”   The announcement comes days after the arts minister Patrick O’Donovan told the Dáil the existing system was “cumbersome and clunky” but functional. “It might not…
