US electronics company, Powell Electronics, will cease shipping parts used in fighter jets from its warehouse in Ireland to Elbit Systems, a major weapons producer in Israel. In a statement issued last night, the company said the decision to stop all future shipments to Israel was made in response to concerns raised by the Irish public. Powell is a major distributor of electronic components, with clients in the defence and military sectors. Its European operations are based in Clane in Co Kildare.
