A Prague-based software company, Unicorn Systems a.s., has won a contract to manage the auctions that Ireland regularly runs for the right to supply electricity to the grid. The contract, a single-party framework agreement with EirGrid, will last three years but may be extended up to 20 years. Initially estimated to be worth just over €43 million, that figure was revised upwards by EirGrid to just over €55 million in the tender results published this week.
