Seventy months. That is how long it has been since the Belgian publisher Mediahuis completed the acquisition of Independent News & Media (INM). INM, the country’s biggest newspaper publisher, has a storied history. However, it was purchased at a low point, struggling with both a declining market for print publishers as well as a string of governance controversies.
