Ireland is one of the EU member states for whom trade with Canada is “particularly important”. That’s according to a report by European Commission published on Monday, examining the state of play of the EU and Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, more commonly known as Ceta. The lengthy report took the pulse of the agreement, which is eight years old but still not fully ratified, across the entire bloc and found, broadly speaking, that the agreement is accomplishing its primary aims of boosting trade between the EU and Canada.
