Scotland is in the process of unwinding public ownership of large swathes of its electric vehicle charger network. By the end of this year, the state-owned ChargePlace Scotland will cease to exist as the country’s transport body seeks to draw in private operators to take its place. ChargePlace makes up around two-thirds of Scotland’s public chargers and the government has opened itself up to multiple tenders for private operators to not only come in and manage the existing network but also expand it even further.
