A rift has opened between industry and higher-level education over aircraft engineering apprenticeships. Dublin Aerospace, the aircraft maintenance group, has called on the Department of Higher Education to intervene in how maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) apprenticeships in Ireland are administered. Representatives from Dublin Aerospace met department officials in March to present their grievances over the apprenticeship programme, according to documents released under freedom of information.
