Irish entrepreneur John Tuohy began his career with FedEx in 1987, starting out as a clerk and van driver. By 1992, he had risen through the ranks to become senior station manager in Dublin—the highest management role for the company in Ireland at the time. When FedEx scaled back its operations in the Irish market that same year, Tuohy seized the opportunity to fill the void.
