The Commercial Court will hear a challenge brought on behalf of Irish consumers aimed at restraining Microsoft’s allegedly “large-scale” unlawful use of personal data in its advertising auctions. The Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL), a non-governmental human rights organisation, is suing the Irish arm of the tech giant, Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd, over alleged data infringements by its advertising platform Xandr.
