London fintech SumUp is set to hire an on-the-ground sales team in Ireland to help drive its market penetration and compete further with the likes of Square, Revolut, and Clover. The British start-up, which is valued at around $8.5 billion, was founded in 2012 with the aim of making payments much simpler for independent owners. The company has evolved significantly since then and now services around four million businesses, ranging from small upstarts through to large enterprises.
