Residents in privately-run emergency accommodation for those seeking asylum in Ireland have made close to 600 complaints since the start of 2024, including serious allegations of sexual violence, assault, and racism, with some cases against management. The complaints are handled by the International Protection Accommodation Services (Ipas), which operates the service known as direct provision.
